I spent today walking. Walking up and down hills stapling arrows to trees and other things for our up coming bicycle race. Part of doing this the slow way is really finding out what has to be done to the course before the race in terms of trail care. Right now there seems to be a lot because of the rains we had recently. But all in all it seems good. Nine point four miles of pure sweet hell. Up and down up and down, turn ,turn ,turn. I am excited about it although according to the forums in Tejas others aren't to happy. For the past eight years we have been accused of trying to murder bike racers by sending them out on the courses we design. This year I guess because of old age we decided to be a little nicer to the beginners. Now they are mad and say it is to easy, yet they have yet to ride the course. Hmmmm. I figured out yesterday during a conversation with Larry that I am old. Not as old as some but a lot older then my brain says. A college kid came in the shop yesterday looking like a glam rocker from the eighties trying to get his fixie to work and I described him to Larry as the Critical Mass Kids. In the past they would have been guys or some other slang word but now they are kids. Sad. I also realized it today after hiking around 11 miles then getting in my car to go pick up my kids and when I got out of the car I almost fell over. It felt as if my legs were solid. Old Ian. With help from a friend I converted an old baby jogger into a cart that carries junk. I used it today to haul all of the race stuff that you need to mark the course and it rocked. To some I must of looked like a demented bag lady running down the trail pushing a weird contraption. But word to you Larry R. and Dave it rocks. The world does not know what it is missing. Out for now if to many people complain we may just make it even harder........I

No wonder you don't get any work done, you're too busy typing.
